Abstract:

The prospects for several top quark related measurements or searches using the future LHC data is presented. These have been obtained from detailed simulations of the proton collisions and dedicated reconstruction and analyse tools. For many topics the LHC experiments have the potential to improve our knowledge significantly beyond to the current and foreseen Tevatron achievements. Also top quark events provide an excellent sample during the commissioning phase of the experiment and are useful for calibration issues.
